New Technologies in the English Classroom
We have been dealing with the different roles teachers and students have when new technologies are introduced in the class. I would like to hear your opinion about how much you have learnt from the task you carried out.
Maybe you can tell me your opinion about this semi-presential teaching/learning. Are you having difficulties carrying out the activities on time? Why?

puypuyvenvWe personally think that New technologies are being very important nowadays, so that, it is basic to use them at any class. And as they are normally motivating, students learn in a better way. Moreover, taking this subject at University allows us to get more knowledge of them.
Despite NT in the English classroom are interesting, we have a lot of work to do, maybe to much. (readings assignments, tasks & dossiers).

First of all, we would like to say that the didactic unit is going to be about the climatic change.
An activity that we want to plan is one in which students have to watch a video from the internet, take the words they understand and then, talk all together about what they have seen and what they have understood. The girl who is talking in the video is probably an English native speaker but despite this, the most important thing are the images and the photos students can see. All the images are real and moreover, there are some sentences that appear in a written way, so that they can listen to and reading it. The main objective is to make students feel sensitive to the climatic change and what we shouldn't do.
Some vocabulary that appears in the video has been worked in a previous lesson, so that, students can understand it easily. (they have been working with these contents). And furthermore, all they comment at class is going to be worked later on.

We think that the methodology is quite good. However, everything can be improved. We have had few problems with the dossier. Sometimes the instructions are not clear enough and we feel a bit lost, which is pretty frustrating. Anyway, this is the way we learn the better: by trial and error. However, we think that there is a lot of work to do and therefore we have to rush and this stops us from learning. It’s a pity, isn’t it?

We think that your methodology is quite good according to our colleagues but we think that there are too much homework to do in relation with the time we have to spend in it.
Furthermore, this course is really interesting to take because it gives us a lot of resources we can use in the class for the near future.

First of all I have to say that I completely agree with my classmates, as this is a very interesting subject, that allows us lots of useful resources to plan our classes in the near future.
Moreover, I think that the methodology could be better, because we have spent a lot of time at home doing dossiers, and the didactic unit. And for me it could be better if this subject would be more practical in the classroom.

First of all I have to say that I completely agree with my classmates, as this is a very interesting subject, that allows us lots of useful resources to plan our classes in the near future.

The methodology used in class is very good as we can have some theoretical classes as well as some guided work and independent work (more or less like the ECTS system works).
This is good because the student have the chance to improve on his own, but he or she has also the aid of the teacher whenever it is required.
Despite the structure of lessons and taks is well-designed, to my mind the number of hours computed does not suit the number of credits given. I think there's a huge load of work which panic us and this does not give us the opportunity to learn and to improve our knowledge because we are obsessed to hand in the essays on time.
Besides, I would like to mention that more practical classes would be better instead of too much "readings" (reading pack) because we have to know the theory, but also a practical view of its theory,and we learn by doing.
I have to add, that thanks to this subject and your monitoring I have learnt where to find lots of resources which will be really useful in a near future (in fact they are being very useful at that moment, when we have to design didactic units,etc...).

I think New technologies are becoming more important. They are part of our lives and I think they have to be taught to children since they start at the nursery. All what we have learned is very interesting for being introduced to our future pupils, in order to learn things differently as the way we did.
I agree with my classmates when they say that using blogs and weblogs are useful tools to be used in class. I think it is a funny way to learn English through ICT.
This week is the last one of this course and I've been thinking of all the things I 've learned and I realize that I learn a lot of things. I new technologies I 've learned a lot about the world hidden behind the world wide web and to me it has been something too important.
We think that it's is a very goop option to have semi-presential lessons since on the one hand, the teacher can explain us the most
relevant contents in class and on the other hand, we can also have some time to practice them and do the tasks required at home. it is
also worth mentioning that we have learnt a lot of useful resources that we can implement in our classrooms in the future. However, we think that some of the tasks are quite difficult to be carried out by ourselves because we had some doubts while doing them. We also think that we have to devote quite a lot of time for doing the dossiers and
tasks.
